"700 Club" DESCRIPTION

The "700 Club" is a Philadelphia Eagles Fan Club that draws its name and it's spirit from Philadelphia's most passionate and infamous fans - the inhabitants of the 700 Level at Veterans Stadium.

Our motto: "You can take the Eagles fan out of the 700 Level, but you can't take the 700 Level out of the Eagles fan!"

We do support all Philadelphia sports teams (Phillies, Flyers and Sixers included) but just like our namesakes, we are especially rabid about our Eagles.

HISTORY

Back in 1998, a couple of hard-core Eagles fans had a chance meeting at the Fireside Tavern in Fort Walton Beach. They formed a loose association of Eagles supporters that would meet at Fireside, and later at JR Rockers to watch Eagles games. Over time, their numbers grew and after the 2001 season, this rag-tag crew of rowdies knew it was time to make a more formal commitment to booing the hell out of Cowboys fans. The 700 Club was officially founded in 2002 by 5 misplaced Eagles fans in Fort Walton Beach, FL. All of it's Founding Members are Air Force member's stationed at Hurlburt Field and/or Eglin AFB's and they are all rabid Eagles fans.

SCHEDULE/GATHERINGS

The 700 Club is open to any Eagles fan, military or not, in the FWB/Destin/Navarre area. We gather each and every Eagles game-day at a local watering hole where we can see our beloved Birds fly to victory!  Check back for info on our next event!

700 Club CORE VALUES

700 Level fans, and their contemporaries in the 700 Club, believe in three important things:

1. Loyalty to the hometown.

Eagles fans are sometimes created - attracted to the silver and green by great players, or great plays. But most of us were born the way we are. Bleeding green. And win or lose, we love our Eagles. Sometimes we have to boo them to make them understand this. But we never, ever give up on them. Not after Kotite. Not after 3-13. Not after 3 straight NFC Title Game losses. Not even on 4^th and 26. We ALWAYS support our Eagles.  

2. The Cowboys suck. And so do the Giants. 

700 Club members not only support our teams, but we take it as a point of pride to boo, verbally bash, and generally disparage all other teams and PARTICULARLY the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. And Tampa Bay sucks too. Not just the Bucs. The whole town. A big part of the mystique of the Vet was the way opposing fans were treated, particularly in the 700 Level. We keep that tradition alive anywhere we gather by giving good-natured hell to any fans wearing the wrong colors. Cowboys fans you've been warned. It's tough to find a snowball in FL, but damn if we won't try!

3. We should be coaching the team.

700 Club members are pretty knowledgeable about sports in general, and our Eagles especially. And we love to voice our opinions on what Coach Reid should or should not be doing with our team. If you come to a 700 Club gathering, come with an opinion and something to back it up. But be warned, faulty information or laughable opinions will cost you beers!
