Philly Fan Resume'
1993: Attended every home playoff game of the Fightin' Phils, until Joe Carter ended our dreams
with a dinger off of Wild Thing. Looking back, this was a life-changing moment for me, as I decided to cut off the mullet
I was growing in honor of the team. College would have been a much less enjoyable time for me had I been sporting a
'Kentucky Waterfall'.
1995: Witnessed the 58-37 playoff ass-whupping of the Detroit Lions at the Vet with High School Friends
and co-founder Andrew Sama. Shirtless most of the game although wind chill in the 700 level was well below zero.
Found leftover Kentucky Fried Chicken under a pickup truck after the game and devoured it as my car was being jump-started
by a fellow hammered Eagles Fan.
2001: Watched the game with 8 friends all wearing Eagles jerseys and were dogpiling on each other
in the living room when McNabb was driving down the field against the Rams. Fortunately, football was on, so this unnecessary
touching was not seen as gay by my peers, although we do not speak of the incident. Unfortunately, there are pictures
to remind us that it did indeed happen. Spent February in New Orleans with Sama, our Eagles jerseys in full effect,
minimal interest in the game. First true let-down as an Eagles Fan.
2002: Spent $350 for a ticket to the last NFC Championship game at the Vet vs. the Bucs. Hugged
and kissed a very fat and hairy man that I did not know when B. Mitch almost ran back the opening kickoff for a TD and Duce
ran in the second play of the game. Most exciting sports minute of my life. Was disgusted looking back on the
embrace of the bearded stranger once Donde took Donovan for 6 the other way. Spent my February in San Diego with
my Eagles jersey on watching a meaningless football game for the second straight year. Vowed to never spend that type
of loot for the bum Eagles ever again.
2003: The Eagles Tart Cart Short Bus was unveiled this year, and saw it's first playoff run.
Also spent $350 for a ticket to the first NFC Championship game at the Linc vs. the Panthers. Was on the look-out for
big disgusting slobs looking for loving from a skinny punk like myself. No worries, as there was absolutely nothing
to cheer about. Tried to cancel my Super Bowl plans to Houston, but reservations were non-refundable, but good for
a nice kick in the oysters. Can't believe I wasted my money again. Never again.
2004: Looking forward to buying a ticket to the NFC Cahmpionship this year, and NOT traveling alone!!

Philadelphia Fan Resume:
1950 - My Mom
and Dad loved the Philly sports teams (particularly the Phillies and the Eagles) and this had a huge influence on my upbringing.
My first recollection of their madness for sports
was the 1950 Whiz Kids World Series. It was a four game blowout at the hands of the mighty Yankees and my first taste of bitter
defeat. I remember my parents, yelling and screaming at their "small-screen" TV and pounding the furniture. I remember that
they were so excited by Robin Roberts' performance in the one game that actually went into extra innings! My first
big thrill as a fan was at Shibe Park in the '50's to see the great Yankee Clipper in his farewell season and his
last game against the once mighty, Philadelphia Athletics. Little Bobby Shantz mowed them down that game! All the fans were
deliriously happy; the A's won but the Clipper was the biggest hit for the standing room only crowd!
1960 -
My intro to the Green & Silver Birds didn't come until the late '50's, with the pinnacle, that great (and last) Championship
season, 1960! It ended with Concrete Charlie putting his stamp all over Coach Lombardi's only Green Bay playoff loss ever! I remember that this great game, played in Franklin Field,
was blacked out on local TV! Can you believe it? Of course, we're still waiting for the next Championship season! 2004 is
the year!
1960 to
2003 - 43 years of waiting for my Eagles to repeat their 1960 triumph. I have been with them at every turn in the road. From
the dark days of the late 60s and 70s thru the muted glory of 1980. From the Vermeil meltdown thru the Gang Green. From Rich
Kotite thru Ray Rhodes to Andy Reid. And still I wait. Ive gone BALD (hence the moniker "Bonehead") waiting for them to win
another one! It may be genetic because my Dad and brothers are all bald too, but then again theyre all Eagles fans. And none
of us are sure if we actually went bald naturally or tore it all out during Eagles losses!
2004 -
Taking a road trip to Chicago to see the Eagles/Bears in October and hope to be seeing them
again in much more pleasant weather in Jacksonville in
Jan 2005! T.O. and the Freak will push us over the top and this will be THE
YEAR!
