Past Events:
1997 Jacksonville
trip
This marked the club's first "road
trip." The date was October 12 and the place was parking lot Q-10 in Jacksonville, Florida.
We loaded up the bus in Tampa at 5am
and headed up the highway to Jacksonville for the 1pm
kickoff. Our bus was packed with over 60 plus fans. Once in Jacksonville, we took
over the parking lot with Eagle pride, food, drinks and FUN. With 15 minutes left until kickoff our lot was packed with well
over 400 EAGLE FANS. It was wonderful to behold a sea of green and silver marching together into Jaguars' house singing the
EAGLES FIGHT SONG. We won the tailgate war in the parking lot, but the Jaguars won the game 38-21.
1999 Miami trip
Two years later, the club
tried the road trip experience again. This time we headed to south Florida on
October 24 to watch the EAGLES and Miami face off in another 1pm game. We pulled out of Tampa
at 6 in the morning with another bus load of Philadelphia Eagle fans ready to take on the fans in Miami.
Once in Miami we took "our spot" in the parking lot near the east gate of the
stadium and well over 300 fellow Eagles fans joined our tailgate party. A Cowboy fan wearing a number 22 shirt even showed
up -- obviously he made a wrong turn. This guy looked like a bunny in the headlights when he realized he was trying to walk
down an alley populated by hundreds of EAGLE FANS. The party and the fans were great, but the Eagles came up short. The Fins
won the game 16-13.
2002 Jacksonville trip
Back to the scene of the original
crime. Our third road trip took the club back to Jacksonville. Once again Philly
of the South put about 60 people on a chartered bus in Tampa and made the three
hour drive north. The date was October 6, but boy was it HOT in JACKSONVILLE that
day! This game marked the start of a wonderful relationship between our club and the famous Tailgate RUSS. He showed us all
how to stay cool by tailgating with great food, drinks, music, and EAGLE FUN! Russ pulled together an event attended by well
over 500 EAGLE FANS. But, the Eagles still lost to the Jags; this time by a score of 28-25.
2003 Miami Trip
More than 100 Philadelphians of the
South were on hand to witness the Eagles romp over the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football on December 15 in Pro Player
Stadium. Our group was part of the 20,000 Philly fans that made up the largest "away" crowd in NFL history. Before
the game, Philadelphians of the South also took part in the "1000 Person Tailgate Party" hosted by Tailgate Russ at Calder
Race Course, where they enjoyed live music, good food, face painting, massages, and lots of beer! Many took the long
weekend in Miami to share the company of other Eagles fans at the Parrot Lounge. FINALLY A WIN for the road warriors
of PHILLY OF THE SOUTH! Monday Night Football must have made the difference in the EAGLES victory (34-27).

2004 Phillies Spring Training
On Sunday, March 28 a group of 27 members attended one of the
Phillies final home games of 2004 Spring Training, where they were treated to the Phils' 5-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Most of the gang met for brunch at Lenny's around the corner from the new Bright House Network Field.
The win, the weather, the company, and the new stadium made this
a terrific outing!
