I've just returned from (another) little trip to the middle of Africa. I know
that I've already told many of you about discovering a fellow Eagles fan in the middle of Niger, but I haven't gotten around
to sending out the photos.
Those of you who don't know, the story is this: I was in Niamey, Niger a couple
of months ago and one of the local kids who hangs out with us showed up one day wearing an Eagles T-shirt! His name
is Moussa, and he had no idea who the Eagles were...what American football is...or why I was so excited to see him wearing
that particular garment. Moussa doesn't speak English, and my French is just good enough to get me slapped by an Air
France flight attendant, but I attempted to explain all I could about the great game of football and (more importantly) the
Eagles in his language.
The photos are large files, so I apologize to those of you who are using "dial-up connections"...I
don't have the technical knowledge to make the photos smaller in size. I'll only attach one photo on here because of
the size, but they're almost all the same anyway.
Anyway, I'll be sending these photos off to the Eagles organization to see if they would
like to donate items to Moussa and his school. Niger is listed as the second poorest country on the planet with an average
median income of around $1 per day. Several of us on the team collected money and paid for Moussa to attend classes
to learn English (paying for his tuition, books, and cab fare for one year).

John Elway, after living
a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Broncos
flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity, John," said God. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up
here." John felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around
the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a Green & White & Silver sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous
EAGLES logo flag, and in every window, an Eagles emblem. John looked at God and said "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful,
but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I won 2 Super Bowls, and I even went to the Hall of Fame." God said "So what's
your point John?" "Well, why does Donovan McNabb get a better house than me?" God chuckled, and said "John, that's not Donovan's
house, it's mine."
